A Government of India initiative helping residential households install rooftop solar with Central Financial Assistance and the potential to receive up to 300 units of electricity per month through solar generation.
MAXIMUM CENTRAL SUBSIDY₹78,000for eligible residential systems of 3 kW or higherSubsidy is capped at 3 kW.
₹30,000 per kW for the first 2 kW of eligible residential capacity.
₹60,000 for the first 2 kW plus ₹18,000 for the additional 1 kW; assistance is capped at 3 kW.
Basic eligibility
Who can apply?
- Indian residential consumers with a valid, grid-connected electricity connection from the local DISCOM
- A suitable roof, terrace, balcony or elevated structure where rooftop solar can be installed
- The household should not have already received another subsidy for the same rooftop solar installation
- Application and vendor selection must follow the National Portal and applicable DISCOM process
Application journey
From registration to subsidy
- RegisterSelect your state and DISCOM, then register on the National Portal.
- ApplyLog in using your consumer number and mobile number, then submit the rooftop-solar application.
- InstallAfter feasibility approval, choose a registered vendor and complete the installation.
- Net meterSubmit plant details, apply for net metering and complete DISCOM inspection.
- Receive CFASubmit bank details and the required documentation for subsidy processing.
